The 52 Week Money Challenge
Posted by Demethius Jackson - Obsessed With Progress Within this blog, we recently talked about setting new year goals instead of resolutions. The following is a concept that has been floating around the internet for quite some time, and will assist those whose goal is to save more money this year. It's called the 52 Week Money Challenge, and it's a great way to motivate yourself to save. The concept is simple: Put money aside every week for the entire 52 week calendar year. The amount you put away is determined by that specific week you're in. For example, in calendar week one, put $1 into savings. Week two, put $2 into savings. Week fifteen, put $15 away, and so on. If you're able to complete the entire challenge, by week 52, you will have saved $1378! Seems too easy? In a sense, it is. Yet for many, the challenge may become harder later in the year when you have to consistently bank $30 to $40 every week. But even if you're unable to bank the exact dollar amount, the important thing is to put something away each week. Getting into the habit of saving is a great goal to have. And as your savings account increases, you'll be motivated to save even more money!
